ffective January 1, 2020, Sheriff Todd Wessells appointed Christopher Shane Childress to the position of Chief Deputy with the rank of Major. He began his law enforcement career at the Accomack County Sheriff's Office in 1994 as a Correctional Officer and was later transferred to the Patrol Division in 1995.
