Incident Description

On October 24, 2013, Latron Dupree Brown filed a lawsuit against the Albemarle County Police Department and Sergeant Dell Johnson, John McKay, Tavis Coffin, Jon Suitz, M. Frazier, Mark Jones, Matt McCall, Off. Hatter, Off. Wormley, and Off. Brake. The complaint describes Brown being pulled from the vehicle then assaulted by multiple officers at once on December 19, 2013. It also describes additional actions taken by ACPD following.

"On 12-19-13 on [Hydraulic] Rd. I was pulled out of the vehicle that I was inside after Sgt. Johnson busted the driver's side window out with his handgun. I was polled to the ground then handcuffed. Officers T. Seitz, Mark Jones, Sgt. Brake, Officer Wormley, and Tavis Coffin all.. [placed their] hands and knees on top of my back as I [laid] face down posing no threat to Officers or resistance.
